Football Recap: Glenbrook North Takes a Loss

Glenbrook North extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They took a blow against the New Trier Trevians, falling 49-7. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Trevians are ranked 58th).

As for New Trier, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jackie Ryder produced another solid performance throwing for 209 yards and three TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes. New Trier is undefeated when Ryder posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Glenbrook North will challenge rival Evanston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, New Trier is set to square off against their familiar foe Glenbrook South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
