Basketball Game Preview: Freeport Falcons vs. Yarmouth Clippers

The Freeport Falcons will face off against the Yarmouth Clippers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Freeport has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Yarmouth will come in with five straight wins.

On Saturday, Freeport lost to Gardiner on the road by a 60-41 margin.

Meanwhile, Yarmouth beat Medomak Valley 57-45 on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Clippers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Panthers are ranked second).

Yarmouth's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Freeport, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Freeport came out on top in a nail-biter against Yarmouth when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 60-57. Will Freeport repeat their success, or does Yarmouth have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
