Basketball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 71-54 bruising from the McQuaid Jesuit Knights. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 654th, while the Knights are ranked 260th).

McQuaid Jesuit's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quinn Wilson, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Wilson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaiyden Jones, who went 7-for-10 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for McQuaid Jesuit, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-10.

Franklin has already played their next contest (against Aquinas Institute), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for McQuaid Jesuit, they will head out to square off against East at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
