Baseball Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for New Trier

New Trier entered their tilt with Jacobs on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Golden Eagles. Considering the Trevians have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Greg Campitelli tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jake Bentivenga was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Keenan Donaldson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

New Trier pushed their record up to 25-7-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Jacobs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-18 record this season.

New Trier will head out to challenge Stevenson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jacobs, they will welcome St. Charles North at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
