Softball Game Preview: Willow Lions vs. Madison Prep Academy

The Willow Lions will take on Madison Prep Academy on Saturday. One thing working in Willow's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

On Tuesday, Willow got the win against Landry by a conclusive 20-9. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Madison Prep Academy's offense. They lost 15-0 to St. Michael on Monday. Madison Prep Academy's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Willow's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Madison Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Everything went Willow's way against Madison Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Willow made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
