Soccer Recap: Swain County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tri-County on Tuesday, Swain County came back down to earth. The Maroon Devils lost 6-1 to the Highlands Highlanders on Thursday.

Swain County's goal came courtesy of Yuriel De La Cruz, who's now up to four this season.

Swain County's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12-2. As for Highlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7-1 record this season.

Swain County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highlands, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 4-2 defeat against Summit Charter on the 31st.
