Baseball Game Preview: Lathrop Spartans vs. Livingston Wolves

The Lathrop Spartans will square off against the Livingston Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Lathrop is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since April 10, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Johansen by a score of 9-7.

Vaugh Sanchez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Lathrop is 3-1 when Sanchez posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Blase, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Livingston's offense. They fell just short of Central Valley by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Livingston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Lathrop, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
