Turner Ashby came into Thursday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Rustburg Red Devils on Thursday as they made off with an 8-2 win. Considering the Knights have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Everett Johnson looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Turner Ashby let Will Knicely and Caden Simmers run wild. Knicely went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Simmers went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Simmers has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Bowman, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Turner Ashby's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Rustburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

As of now, neither Turner Ashby nor the Red Devils have any future games scheduled.
