Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Shoals Jaguars vs. Salem Seminoles

The Cedar Shoals Jaguars and the Salem Seminoles will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in Cedar Shoals' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

On Monday, Cedar Shoals didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Discovery, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win. That's two games straight that the Jaguars have won by exactly six points.

Meanwhile, Salem came up short against Prince Avenue Christian on Monday and fell 55-48. The matchup marked the Seminoles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cedar Shoals' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for Salem, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Cedar Shoals suffered a grim 67-41 defeat to Salem in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
