Basketball Game Preview: John Hay vs. Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen

John Hay will challenge the Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. John Hay is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, everything came up roses for John Hay against Max S. Hayes as the squad secured a 77-25 win. Given John Hay's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Max S. Hayes is ranked 692nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jordyn Webb and Carly Fisher were among the main playmakers for John Hay as the former dropped a double-double on 26 points and 21 rebounds and the latter posted 17 points along with eight boards and three steals. Webb is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Amare Buchanan was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Cleveland Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 65-54 to Beaumont School.

John Hay will have to contain Morgan Crawford as she made an impact in Cleveland Central Catholic's last game. She dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. Crawford has become a key player for Cleveland Central Catholic: the team is 4-2 when she posts at least ten boards, but 2-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Imani Dotson, who earned 12 points.

The victory made it two in a row for John Hay and bumps their season record up to 12-3. As for Cleveland Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
