Piedmont gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past the Cherokee County Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 24-8. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Warriors are ranked 35th).

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piedmont will welcome Saks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Cherokee County, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Arab at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
