Baseball Game Preview: Holy Cross Indians vs. Harrison County Thorobreds/Fillies

The Holy Cross Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Harrison County Thorobreds/Fillies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Holy Cross is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Newport Central Catholic on Wednesday. They fell 6-2 to the Thoroughbreds.

Holy Cross saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Issenmann, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Harrison County got the win against Paris on Monday by a conclusive 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Thorobreds/Fillies, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Harrison County and bumps their season record up to 5-1-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Holy Cross, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Holy Cross suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Harrison County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Holy Cross avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
