Softball Recap: Althoff Catholic Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Althoff Catholic unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 13-1 to the Metro-East Lutheran Knights on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Anna Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

The victory got Metro-East Lutheran back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Althoff Catholic will challenge East St. Louis at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they will face off against Alton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
