Softball Recap: Millry Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Millry and Fruitdale, and Fruitdale kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 15-14 on Tuesday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 14-13.

Millry has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9-1 record this season. As for Fruitdale, their record now sits at 5-15.

Coming up, Millry will be playing at home against Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fruitdale, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-14 win against Clarke County on the 8th.
