Jordan-Matthews takes loss despite strong efforts from Jada Scott and Lia Carter

The Jordan-Matthews Jets lost against the Eastern Randolph Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Jordan-Matthews took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastern Randolph. Jordan-Matthews has struggled against Eastern Randolph recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Jordan-Matthews' loss came despite strong showings from Lia Carter and Jada Scott. Carter scored 12 points along with six steals, while Scott scored ten points along with six rebounds and five blocks. Carter scored a full 31.6% of Jordan-Matthews' points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Yamilet Lozano, who scored six points.

Kenly Whitaker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eastern Randolph, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Whitaker has scored at least 25% of Eastern Randolph's points. Callie Craven was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Jordan-Matthews' loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Eastern Randolph, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.

Jordan-Matthews and Southeast Alamance will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Eastern Randolph, they will head out on the road to face off against Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Asheboro is ranked 498th, while Eastern Randolph is ranked 487th).
