Softball Recap: Maricopa Takes a Loss

Maricopa lost against Flowing Wells back in March of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Maricopa fell just short of Flowing Wells by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since March 16, 2024.

Alanee Calderon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Ariana Calderon was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Maricopa and nudges their season record down to 6-6-1. As for Flowing Wells, they moved to 4-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Maricopa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-12 victory against Pueblo on the 20th. As for Flowing Wells, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 win against St. David on the 21st.
