Preview: Trezevant Bears vs. Lakeland Preparatory Lions
Trezevant has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Lakeland Preparatory Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Trezevant's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, Trezevant gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past KIPP Collegiate 78-11 at home. With Trezevant ahead 53-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
SHELBY GRAY continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 28 points, ten assists, and 19 steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Trezevant's points. Another player making a difference was MARISSA WILLIAMS, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Lakeland Preparatory won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 72-7 loss at the hands of Memphis Business Academy. While losing is never fun, Lakeland Preparatory can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while Memphis Business Academy is ranked 115th).
Trezevant is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
