It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Harlan had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Madison Mavericks 85-64. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Harlan found their leader in sophomore Josiah Jones, who posted 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Amoni Francis was another key player, putting up 15 points.
Despite the defeat, Madison saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Darien Howard went 10-for-17 to rack up 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for Howard. Another player making a difference was Josiah Fite-Brown, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Harlan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.4 points over those games. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 16-19.
