Baseball Recap: Destiny Christian Academy Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Destiny Christian Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Kennedy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Lions were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Cougars on Tuesday. Considering the Lions' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Destiny Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Kolton Pedler, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Pedler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Sodestrom, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Pedler wasn't the only one making solid contact: Destiny Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only managed two hits.

Destiny Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, they dropped their record down to 3-19 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Destiny Christian Academy will head out to face off against Woodland at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Kennedy, they will venture away from home to challenge Antelope at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
