Volleyball Recap: Sam Houston Comes Up Short

Sam Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winn Mavericks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2019.

Sam Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Winn, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Sam Houston will host Seguin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Hurricanes their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Winn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lanier on the 15th.
