Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Nia Tinsley and Tessa Caldwell Lead Horizon to Victory

Horizon waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Desert Mountain Wolves as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Horizon walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-21.

Horizon was led to victory by Tessa Caldwell and Nia Tinsley. Caldwell had eight digs and two assists, while Tinsley had eight kills and five digs. Tinsley has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last eight times she's played.

Horizon's win bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Desert Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-22 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Horizon is set to face off against their familiar foe Notre Dame Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Desert Mountain will challenge rival Mountain Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
