Football Game Preview: Union Pines Vikings vs. Williams Bulldogs + Official Tickets

Union Pines is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Williams is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Vikings will host the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Union Pines is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Lee County 35-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Vikings' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 182nd).

Adrian Colon and Ian Hicks were among the main playmakers for Union Pines as the former gained 117 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes. Those 225 passing yards gave Hicks a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Williams humbled Franklinton with a 49-12 victory.

Union Pines better keep an eye on Kyrian Fuller. He was instrumental in Williams' win, rushing for 139 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while also throwing for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes. Another back making a difference was Amarion Richmond, who rushed for 77 yards and a pair of scores.

Williams was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 173 rushing yards in nine consecutive contests.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Williams' defense and their three sacks. In that department, Evan Bigelow was the leader with two.

Union Pines' win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Williams, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 10-1.
