Baseball Recap: Ravenscroft Wins Going Away Against American Leadership Academy-Johnston

Ravenscroft gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots with a sharp 16-5 win. With that victory, the Ravens brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Matthew Hutter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ravenscroft is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Hutter was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Ravenscroft got a massive performance out of Matt Ulicny, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The Ravens are 4-1 when Ulicny posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Amos Welborn also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Ravenscroft kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Ravenscroft's record is now 5-6. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-3.
