Metro Tech comes up short despite Ace Zambrano's dominant performance

The Metro Tech Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 65-34 loss at the hands of Desert Edge. While losing is never fun, Metro Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Desert Edge is ranked 166th).
When it comes to explaining why Metro Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ace Zambrano. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Zambrano scored 15 or more points.
Metro Tech's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Desert Edge, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
