Volleyball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Durango Trailblazers

After both having extra time off, the Liberty Patriots and the Durango Trailblazers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Liberty is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Coronado, who was ranked first at the time (Liberty was ranked 14th). The Patriots lost 3-0 to the Cougars on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

While Liberty ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Durango entered their tilt with Doral Academy Red Rock on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 3-1.

Durango was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 24-26, 25-19.

Durango's win bumped their record up to 13-18. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 20-12.

Liberty beat Durango 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trailblazers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
