Baseball Recap: La Salle Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

La Salle had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Temple City Rams. That's two games straight that the Lancers have won by just one run.

Nico Armendariz looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

La Salle hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.

La Salle pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Temple City, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12-1.

Looking ahead, La Salle will be playing in front of their home fans against Cathedral at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 3.9, the Phantoms 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Temple City, they will face off against South Pasadena at 3:30 p.m. on the 21st.
