League recap: High Point Central bests Glenn in blowout

4A Conference 8 recap November 5, 2013

High Point Central took down Glenn 58-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jameel Mack threw for 387 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for 100 yards in the win.

Antwone Vance was the most successful running back in 4A Conference 8 this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 150 yards as East Forsyth defeated the Bobcats. Teammate Cory Richie added to the ground attack by rushing for 121 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Eagles and Northwest Guilford. East Forsyth comes into the matchup ranked 12th in the state, while the Vikings ranks 13th.

Todd Willert's team's Vance needs only 54 yards against Northwest Guilford next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 145 carries Vance has accumulated 946 yard this year.

High Point Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 911 from 1,073. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 58-20 victory over Glenn last week.
