Basketball Recap: Cambridge Takes a Loss

Cambridge lost against Southern Valley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans fell 55-50 to the Eagles. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Cambridge still got an impressive performance from Hodge Raburn, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards. Raburn is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 20 every time he's taken the court this season. Brady Ahlemeyer was another key player, putting up ten points.

Southern Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Hamilton led the charge by going 7-for-13 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Hamilton a new career-high in field goal percentage (54%). Another player making a difference was Hunter Lans, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Cambridge now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Southern Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Cambridge will welcome South Loup at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-47 loss against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] on the 11th.
