Basketball Game Preview: Houston County Fighting Irish vs. Stewart County Rebels + How To Watch

The Houston County Fighting Irish will head out to take on the Stewart County Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Houston County will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Harpeth, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Fighting Irish snuck past the Indians with a 54-48 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fighting Irish.

Houston County found their leader in sophomore Ryan Carter, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. Carter is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 16 games he's played dating back to last season. Ryder Forrester was another key player, going 6-for-13 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stewart County). They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Gleason 74-72.

Houston County's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Stewart County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Houston County against Stewart County in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 66-30 victory. Will the Fighting Irish repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
