Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Christian Royals vs. Tekonsha Indians

Jackson Christian is a perfect 10-0 against Tekonsha since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Jackson Christian Royals will take on the Tekonsha Indians at 6:30 p.m. Jackson Christian will be strutting in after a win while Tekonsha will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Jackson Christian beat Burr Oak 31-19.

Rennie Huff and Ella Boll were among the main playmakers for Jackson Christian as the former went 7-for-15 on her way to 21 points along with five boards and four steals and the latter posted two points in addition to 15 rebounds and three blocks. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which Huff has scored at least a third of Jackson Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Shaina McCombs, who put up four points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Tekonsha suffered their biggest defeat since March 6, 2024 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 42-11 loss at the hands of Pittsford. The Indians' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Jackson Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points over those games. As for Tekonsha, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Everything came up roses for Jackson Christian against Tekonsha when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 59-27 victory. In that contest, Jackson Christian amassed a halftime lead of 34-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
