Basketball Recap: Hinsdale South Takes a Loss

Hinsdale South lost against Glenbard West back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hinsdale South Hornets came up short against the Glenbard West Hilltoppers, falling 69-44. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 76th).

Despite the loss, Hinsdale South still got an impressive performance from Maeve Savage, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. The game was Savage's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Goins, who posted 14 points.

Hinsdale South has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season. As for Glenbard West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-12.

Looking ahead, Hinsdale South will welcome Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hancock's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Hinsdale South's offense will have their work cut out for them. Glenbard West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
