Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sparta Academy). Everything went their way against the Atmore Christian Rams on Friday as the Sparta Academy Warriors made off with a 14-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-3 on Friday.

The victory made it two in a row for Sparta Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Atmore Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Sparta Academy will take on Meadowview Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Sparta Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Atmore Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Rosa Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atmore Christian has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
