Volleyball Recap: Paxton Tigers vs. Maxwell Wildcats
After flying high against Leyton on Tuesday, Paxton came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Maxwell Wildcats on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Addison Holm paced Paxton's offense, picking up 17 kills. Holm got some help from Hadleigh Kramer and her 35 assists. Cayla Peterson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Leading Maxwell to victory were Madelynn Nelson and Ellys Gosnell. Nelson had 17 digs and two assists, while Gosnell had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Gosnell has posted over her last 12 contests.
Paxton's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Maxwell, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 13-9.
Coming up, Paxton will take on Kimball at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maxwell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Hershey on the 11th.
