Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Eastbrook's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eastbrook walked away with it. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Muncie Burris Owls on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Carter Daugherty was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Reid Aupperle was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Malakai Luthy, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Eastbrook has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Muncie Burris, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Looking ahead, Eastbrook will take on Madison-Grant at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Muncie Burris does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
