Baseball Recap: Twinsburg Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Twinsburg entered their tilt with Hoover on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 4-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Twinsburg got a great performance from Nathan Kimmel as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Kimmel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bobby Lemieux, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Twinsburg pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hoover, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

Twinsburg and Hoover should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 100th) will meet Avon (ranked 246th) at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Hoover will take on North Royalton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (18 vs. 156). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.8, the Bears 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
