Baseball Recap: Springfield Yellow Jackets vs. Liberty Creek Wolves
Springfield's last matchup with Liberty Creek could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. Springfield came up short against Liberty Creek, falling 10-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Tuesday.
Kason Woodson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Timothy Bush, who scored a run and stole two bases.
This is the second loss in a row for Springfield and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Liberty Creek, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
Coincidentally, Springfield and Liberty Creek will both be playing White House-Heritage the next time they take the field. Springfield will head out to face White House-Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Liberty Creek will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
