Basketball Recap: Wyoming Valley West Comes Up Short

Wyoming Valley West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 61-48 to the Hazleton Area Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while the Cougars are ranked 182nd).

Wyoming Valley West's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Hazleton Area, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-7.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dallas the next time they take the court. Hazleton Area will head out to face Dallas at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Wyoming Valley West will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
