Ouachita Parish is the team to beat in Louisiana, but watch out for Denham Springs, St. Amant, Curtis and Florien.

Curtis looks to repeat as the Louisiana Class 3A champion in 2015.

1. Ouachita Parish (Monroe)
Head Coach: Tim Whitman
2014 Record: 27-4, Class 5A champion

The Lady Lions pushed through to win the first state title in the program's history last season. They lose Class 5A Player of the Year Kat Lee, along with all-state player Karlee Walker, but Whitman's squad should be reloaded and ready to compete for another state title in 2015. Leading the way will be honorable mention all-state centerfielder Victoria Pederson, who signed with the University of Louisiana-Monroe this fall.

2. Denham Springs (Denham Springs)
Head Coach: David Bourque
2014 Record: 23-6, Class 5A runner-up

The high-powered Yellow Jacket offense couldn't keep up with Ouachita in last year's 5A final, but Bourque will have his squad ready to redeem themselves in 2015. Leading the way will be a pair of all-state performers in senior outfielder Brittany Case (.606 last season) and sophomore Jaden Accardo (.389).

3. St. Amant
Head Coach: Scott Nielson
2014 Record: 30-3

The top-seeded Gators were stunned in the 5A quarterfinals by a hot No. 9-seed in Pineville, but don't expect similar results in 2015. Nielson loses all-state pitcher Skylar Cook, but returns standout shortstop Kara Gremillion, who hit .548 last season as a junior.

4. Curtis (River Ridge)
Head Coach: Jerry Godfrey
2014 Record: 29-2, Class 3A champion

Not much changed for Curtis despite moving into Class 3A last season. After winning two straight titles in 2A, Godfrey and the Patriots completed the three-peat by beating Jena in the 3A final last season. They lose MaxPreps All-American Katie Brignac and all-state infielder Brooke Lee, but look for all-state junior Payton Adams (.346 last season) to take over the leadership role.

5. Florien
Head Coach: Bruce Stewart
2014 Record: 28-1, Class B champion

Florien beat Quitman last year in the Class B final thanks in part to an outstanding pitching performance by Abbey McMillian, who went 23-1 on the season. Now a junior, McMillian will lead the experienced Lady Blackcats in search of a repeat. She'll be joined by four fellow all-state performers: senior Adrianna Phillips, who hit .356 last year, juniors Caitlyn Corley (.431), and Kaitlin Davis (.471), along with sophomore Bailey McCleary (.422).
