If New Hope-Solebury was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Springfield Township on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Upper Moreland Bears on Thursday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Mabel Klossner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

New Hope-Solebury's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Upper Moreland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

New Hope-Solebury and Upper Moreland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Lions will take on Plumstead Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (140 vs. 497). Meanwhile, Upper Moreland (ranked 202nd) will meet Harriton (ranked 550th) at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
