Basketball Game Preview: Kuna Kavemen vs. Eagle Mustangs

Kuna hasn't had much luck against Eagle recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Kavemen will look to defend their home court against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Kuna ended up a good deal behind Boise and lost 53-37. While losing is never fun, the Kavemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Brave are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Eagle hadn't done well against Owyhee recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mustangs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Storm 69-27. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Eagle's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Kuna, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Kuna couldn't quite get it done against Eagle in their previous matchup back in January of 2025 as they fell 68-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Mustangs' Berkley Jones, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 18 boards. Now that the Kavemen know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
