Douglas hadn't done well against McQueen recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Douglas Tigers claimed a resounding 49-21 victory over the McQueen Lancers on the road. Considering the Tigers have won three matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Ovard looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 188 yards and three touchdowns.

Douglas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Nathan Priou, Braden Lenz, and Brenton Weston picked up one apiece. Lenz has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

Douglas is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for McQueen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

After each having a week off, Douglas and Reed will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th. Both might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 967 yards in their previous games.
