Basketball Recap: Stony Point Makes It 21 in a Row on the Road

With a playoff win on the line, Stony Point rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Judson Rockets by a score of 64-53. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th in Texas, while the Rockets are ranked 109th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stony Point got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Uzziah Buntyn out in front who posted 18 points and three steals. Buntyn has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Elijah Clemons was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Stony Point pushed their record up to 32-4 with the win, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Judson, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-16.

Coming up, Stony Point will challenge Harlan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stony Point knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 36 contests -- so hopefully Harlan likes a good challenge. Judson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
