Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask De Soto). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Postville Pirates 94-22. De Soto has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Kylee Venner, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 boards. Her morning made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Sylvia Krueger was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 20 rebounds.

De Soto was working as a unit and finished the game with 31 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for De Soto and bumps their season record up to 13-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points over those games. As for Postville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

De Soto didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-48 defeat against Ithaca on the 7th. As for Postville, they will face off against South Winneshiek on February 15th.
