Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Tucson High Magnet School's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

Tucson High Magnet School put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let the Marana Tigers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Badgers have posted against the Tigers since March 16, 2018.

Juan Hernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Hernandez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Aldo Teilon was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Tenochtli Nepan Ollin was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Tucson High Magnet School has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Marana, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
