Soccer Recap: Cleveland Takes a Loss

Cleveland's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Corinth Holders Pirates by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Cleveland have lost by just one goal.

Cleveland was without their leading scorer, Joesph Dillon-Fye, in Thursday's match. With Dillon-Fye sidelined, the Rams had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Julio Cassanova (70), John-Mac Broadwell (65), and Matheo Salazar (56). The trio had averaged 45.3, 26.9, and 18.7 minutes respectively before Thursday's contest.

This is the second loss in a row for Cleveland and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Corinth Holders, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cleveland will venture away from home to square off against South Garner at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Corinth Holders, they will head out to challenge Rolesville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Corinth Holders' defense better be ready for this one: Rolesville have averaged an impressive 2.9 goals per game this season.
