Despite the defeat, Royse City had strong showings from Zavier Brown, who rushed for 124 yards and one score, and Bryson Arney, who picked up 178 receiving yards. With that strong performance, Arney is now averaging an impressive 109 receiving yards per game.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when North Forney duked it out with Rockwall-Heath last Friday. The Falcons were just a hair shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Hawks. The loss was the Falcons' first of the season.
Royse City will need to focus on slowing down Cordai Woodard, one of several North Forney players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Andikan Asuquo, who rushed for 64 yards and two TDs.
Royse City has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, North Forney fell to 6-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Royse City has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 195.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Forney struggles in that department as they've been averaging 368 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
