Softball Game Preview: T.R. Miller Tigers vs. Gulf Breeze Dolphins

The T.R. Miller Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. T.R. Miller will be strutting in after a victory while Gulf Breeze will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, T.R. Miller turned things around against Excel on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers an 8-0 shutout.

The team relied heavily on Meg Fountain, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Ellie Miller was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Fountain wasn't the only one making solid contact: T.R. Miller kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The Tigers are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Gulf Breeze suffered their biggest loss since February 27th on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to Pace. The Dolphins have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Gulf Breeze's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for T.R. Miller, they now have a winning record of 12-11-1.

T.R. Miller couldn't quite get it done against Gulf Breeze in their previous matchup back in February as they fell 5-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
