Baseball Recap: Kettering Victorious

Kettering won the last time they faced Novi Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Captains walked away with an 11-6 win over the Warriors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Captains.

At the plate, CHASE NANNINI and TYLER YUHAS did most of the damage at the plate: NANNINI went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while YUHAS went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. YUHAS has become a key player for Kettering: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was DEAN SHEPARD, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Kettering was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.

The victory got Kettering back to even at 11-11. As for Novi Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Coming up, Kettering will welcome Walled Lake Western at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Novi Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Clarenceville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
