The Ayersville Pilots will challenge the Pettisville Blackbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Ayersville will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
Ayersville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fairview on Thursday. The Pilots' pitcher stepped up to hand the Apaches a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Pilots have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kendra Waldron made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Aeriel Brown was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Allison Eldridge, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Pettisville fell victim to Montpelier and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Locomotives, falling 11-0. The Blackbirds have struggled against the Locomotives recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Ayersville pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Pettisville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Pettisville's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Ayersville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.9 strikeouts per game.
