Softball Recap: Ralls Gets the Win

Ralls hadn't beaten Sudan on the road since March 11, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Jackrabbits walked away with a 19-15 win over the Hornets. This was payback for the Jackrabbits, who suffered a 17-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Kylee Luna, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Maria Zavala also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ralls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 12.6.

Ralls' record is now 5-8. As for Sudan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Hornets beat Ralls by a score of 11-9 on Saturday.
